Troy Martin began his caddying career in 2003 with Dave Stockton Jr. and Dave Stockton Sr. Splitting time between the PGA Tour and Champions Tour until
finally sticking with Dave Stockton Sr. for a 3 year run on the Champions Tour. As Dave Stockton Sr.'s playing career was winding down, Troy was approached by Jerry Pate the last event of the 2005 season with an offer to caddie for him the following season. They won the Outback Steakhouse Pro-am in Tampa in just their fourth tournament together. It was Pate's first win in nearly 23 years!
After a dozen events with Pate, Troy opted to make a switch and started caddying for D.A. Weibring in June, 2006. Since that time, Weibring has earned more than 2 million dollars and won the 3M Championship in Minneapolis. " There is no doubt I have the best job in the world. I caddie for a player whom I admire and respect very much, and my office is the fairway on the best golf courses in the world" said Martin.
Troy uses the feedback from many PGA Tour caddies to create the exact book needed on the major professional tours. Players are often questioned as well, with a response from one Champions Tour player being " great book and graphics, this is the first yardage book with a clear and large enough text for me to read without putting on my glasses."
Troy is also a credentialed PGA Tour instructor as well....
